Photography and Writing
Ansel Adams is a very famous American landscape photographer. Read this short article and check out the landscapes in the article. Could you use one of these as a jumping off point for some creative writing? Do you enjoy landscape photography? Read up on Adams and check out some of his other work as well.

Ansel Adams landscape photograph definitely inspires me. A couple of his pictures made me think of where my next story's character can travel and explore. Ansel's work totally gives me a jumping off point for creative writing.
I do enjoy landscape photography because it looks really cool on the back of postcards. Every once and I while, I get a postcard from someone, and it is usually when they are traveling. On the postcard, there is a landscaped photo of wherever they are. I always love to see the cool, awesome backgrounds.
These landscape pictures by Ansel Adams could definitely be a jumping off point for a creative piece for me. Certain landscapes, like the one of the deserted road and the one of the waterfalls definitely inspire me. This is because they show you how magical and beautiful Earth can be and how dark and dreamy it can be too. For example, in the photo of the long deserted road surrounded by fields, it shows me that the end will always be happy and if not, then it's not the end because even though this picture is blurry and dully colored, the road is continuing on. In the photo of the many waterfalls, I feel that all of the waterfalls show the many diverse people on Earth and how, in some time, we form back together (the ocean). This is why these photographs of the landscapes inspire me and could potentially be a starting point for a writing piece.
@Sweet, I agree with you that these landscapes can be some places where a character can travel but I feel that these have more meaning than just to be a setting in a short story. They may not mean the same thing to you, but I feel that most of these show the beauty and ugliness in life and in the world, not just a place where a character travels to. So,I feel that even though these landscapes could be a very good setting for a character in a short story to go, I feel that there is more to them than just a pretty image or a lifeless image.

I do enjoy landscape photography. I think that it is very beautiful and natural. I love looking over a a mountain peak and seeing just natural things such as ducks in a lake, clouds in the air and birds flying south. I do enjoy the photography, but I can't stand the wait. There is nothing more boring then waiting for something to line up and be perfect. For example, say you were trying to get a picture of the clouds, but every time you tried to take a picture, an airplane flew by, and then another, and another. Finally you get the perfect shot at the clouds; everything is lined up, no airplanes in sight, no nothing. Then right when you think you are in the clear, your camera won't turn on. I love looking at photography, but I can't stand doing it myself.

I agree with you. I think I could also chose one of these locations for my creative writing piece. These photos could show the person's attitude and physical traits. For example, the water fall could show that the person is caring and kind, but serious and strict when needed. It could also show he's old school and works hard for his stuff. For example, he fishes and he hunts. In conclusion, I think these photos would make great story locations.
Ansel Adams really inspired me. He gave me some ideas on what to do next and really was a jump off point for me. He also gave me ideas about were places to write about and many other great ideas. This is why Ansel Adams inspired me.
I could certainly use these photos as jumping off points for a writing piece. I know this because i thought of climbing the mountain when I looked at the first picture and i thought i could write a story about the adventures of climbing a mountain like that. these pictures are perfect for that because it is so majestic and beautiful!

I do think that you could use this jumping off point as a writing piece. I think this because I personally see a story put into the painting as it was painted. I know he didn't just think "oh I am going to paint a mountain today" he thought hard and thought about what it meant to him.

I agree with you 100% looking at that painting I can see any person writhing an adventure hiking through the woods or even just going rock climbing. I agree with you because you can see more than a mountain or trees you see the beauty with in the painting.

I definitely think that these photographs could be great jumping off points for a story. This is because when I see them the first thing that comes to mind is... mountain climbing getting lost on a mountain or a mixture of both. If it took me only a minute to come up with that imagine what someone could do if they actually tried. This is why I think that the photos could be jumping off points for short stories.
I also think that these picture are amazing. I think this because the photos look so untouched by anything and just the sheer scale of the mountain on the first slide gave me shivers. This is why I think these photos are amazing

I agree with you completely and think that you could make a great story on the adventures you could have climbing the mountain. I also think that the picture was fantastic because it showed so much open land and you don't see that so much anymore. This is why I think the picture was fantastic.
Ansel Adams's picture is inspiring because it captures to true beauty of nature that has been untouched by man. This could be a great jumping off point for writing because you can write cool stories or about how amazing the beauty of nature is.
These images were the most amazing images I have ever scene. This is because they showed the world in a way that really hasn't been seen in years because of all the corruption. So you could definitely make a scene out of this but you could also make a character out of it like in a spiritual story when the land guides you in a journey. So these landscapes don't just represent land but people good people or those who have powered through all of the slums of life. So these images just interesting because represent so much even though are so simple unlike what they represent which what makes them cool.
Muffin Man 101 I agree with you. This is because I also think that this is really inspiring because It can spark a setting or character. Also it tells what we have touched is considered beautiful yet what we do touch is corrupt or being corrupted. So it can also teach us that we can always get better because you just have to look around and you will see what we have done. But it also teaches that even though we are so corrupt that if the effect was opposite we could make things as beautiful as nature. So it can inspire so much.
I enjoy looking at landscape pictures. I find these pictures unniqu and interesting. They make you think and infer on were this amazing photograph came from. Ansel Adams’ took some incretible pictures of landscape.

I could use these pictures would be good for some creative writing. You could make a good creative story from these pictures. I do enjoy landscape photography because its just so cool and to just see some amazing scenery. Its just so cool to look at, its almost inspiring because I would love to something like that. I say this because writing would be fun because of these pictures, and some the pictures are just amazing.
I agree with Kevin O because it is inspiring. Just the way he had to climb up the mountains and take these amazing pictures. They would be a great writing topic for anybody. Because there is just so much cool stuff in this. You just can't be inspired by this.
I enjoy landscape photography because it shows the beauty of the nature we dont notice in out daily life. It gives you a chance to stop and look at something so beautiful that is is breath taking. Therefore, I really enjoy looking at landscape photography a lot because it shows the natural beauty around us and it gives something to think about, taking your breath away, slightly, or a gasp. Nature is a beautiful thing, dont let it go to waste.

I agree with you because you can set a wonderful scene with these and set off a good topic. Like the 2nd one, someone striving through a desert to survive. Or the 5th one, having a place where if you dont wear yellow you go to jail and you must be cordinate or you get a consequence. And the 6th one, you can have people stuggling after a hurricane or tornado, and then a little girl or boy working hard to keep the place going uphill. And the 8th one can be that there was a park there and they plummed it down and ruined the kids excitement so they all team up and work together to buildd another one and stop the workers fro taking it down to the ground. Therefore, I agree these pictures are a good scene setting.
I did enjoy looking at the landscape pictures. They explain a whole story. They allow you to guess what happened. The picture with all the rubble, you caould guess that some type of natural desastor happened. Looking at each one gives you a different perspective of the type of landscape. Like the sand dunes gave a different look at them because the picture was taken either early morning or night time, you can see the shadows.
I enjoyed looking at these picyures because the each explained a story and they gave me a different perspective on the landscape.
I could definitely use one of these for a starting point on a short story. This is because his pictures captured the amazing wilderness, as it really was. For example, in the picture of Mt Mckinley, you could see the crisp white of the snow, and the shimmering leke beneath it. You could easily use one of these as your setting.
@Emma i agree with you the pictures of the landscape did make me infer on were they came from and the story behinde them. Each one is unique and different in its own special way. They each make you think about whats happening and what happened. There for they make you infer on what caused this to happen.

I agree with you on the aspect that all of his pictures are unique, because, they all focus on a different aspect of an object. For example, the first picture of mount mckinley focused on the shape and size of it. You can see the crisp lines of the edges of the mountain.
After looking at the photographs they really inspired me. I could use the photos to help write a story and the adventures that the characters took. The pictures are also unique and make you think of different possibilities of how a story could be written based off of them.
@Marissa I agree with you because the pictures are unique and do make you guess about how a story could be based off it. You can use your imagination to think of stories that have a setting or a problem like the disaster in one of the pictures.
I think that these pictures could definitely used as a start for creative writing pieces. I was especially inspired by the Ghana junkyard. Looking at this picture, gave me two great story ideas. The first idea is to write about the Ghana junkyards. Maybe I could have a teenager who digs through the trash as work to find something worth money. Another idea is that I could write about after/during huge disasters that strongly damage the earth. There could be a teen or preteen that struggles to find food, water and just stay alive. Since just one of these pictures sparked two ideas for a writing topic, landscape photos can be great inspirations for writing.

I also enjoy landscape photos. They are so magnificent. I especially like pictures with sunsets, rainbows, or bright colors. Those type of landscape photos leave me speechless. One of my favorite parts of craft fairs are the photographs. The photographers are so good at what they do, pick the best locations for photos, and know how to take beautiful pictures. I always spend more time at the photograph stand then any other because of just how special they are.
After looking at his photography work it looks absolutely brilliant. I think that it is very inspiring my self. I can defiantly write about it is is very professional I can see how he is famous for his work.i
@muffin. I agree with you because it does absolute capture beauty in his work. I know this because in the picture it shows in black and white how black and white can show beauty. This is important because every lice has beauty in it but this has some beauty that only Ansel Adams can create.
I could definitely use one of these photos as a jumping off point for some creative writing. I also like landscape photos. When I went to Dubai, I took many pictures of the sand dunes with all the curves. It reminded me of the second picture because they were almost the same. One way I could use it is to make sensory details from it. I wrote about a picture when I went dune bashing in the desert. It was: “The wind blows, and sand streaks across the sky. The red sunset slowly droops under the horizon. Traveling at top speed, the sand hammers on the windows of the car. The SUV skids and turns on the top of the reddish orange dunes, making tracks on the barren land only to be covered again by sand, sand, and more sand.” This could easily be used to jump off from a creative writing piece.

I agree with you that the waterfall and the blurry road picture are inspiring. I say this because the waterfall doesn't seem to be a part of earth at all! The blurry road can be part of a sad and depressing dream. Like you said, "They show you how magical and beautiful Earth can be and how dark and dreamy it can be too." That's why I agree with you that the waterfall and blurry road pictures are inspiring.
I do enjoy landscape photography because it fascinates me how there are such beautiful things and places in life and such terrible/disastrous things and places in life. For example the burning piles of trash landscape sickened me. However, I think the mountain piece is beautiful and shows a great place to discover and photograph. Also, that brings me to the conclusion thinking that it would be a good jumping-off point for a creative writing piece. I could write a poem about discovering the beautiful places on Earth. I could also create a poem about the burning trash one about living a nightmare or discovering the terrible things in life. This is why I do enjoy landscape photography and could write a creative writing piece about these photographs.

I do enjoy lnscape photography because it makes cool backgrounds for your computer or phone. I don't thing that I would buy a painting or picture like that but they are still very pretty. I think that it would be cool for them to have move selection af landscape backgrounds because they are inspiring and unique.
I think that Landscape photography is a great presentation of natures beauty. For example in Ansel Adams photo is nature at its finest. its not painting that he created its what is outside and all around. Also landscape photography makes a normal landscape and brings out the best of it. This makes you rethink how you think about the world around you. Lastly landscapes make people think about the difference between untouched nature and populated areas and cities. I think that photos should make you think and landscapes do.

I definitely agree, his pictures can inspire many, many different settings for stories of all different sorts because it would be easy to describe, when looking at the picture. Like when you come up with a setting for a story, it is usually easier when you have a visual image of what it looks like so that it is easier to describe it to the reader so that they can picture it. If I found the right one of his landscape photos, I would most definitely right a story using his picture as a setting.
This picture definetely inspires me to write because of its content. It seems to capture every detail, you can see where certain parts of the sunlight hits the mountain. Therefore, it would be a very fun thing to write about because there is so much you can write about of it.

I agree that landscape scenery and photography would make a really cool background for a computer, cell phone, or anything else because it's beautiful. Every time you'd look at your phone, you'd see a beautiful part of the Earth's nature, you'd see all the details, even the ones that a drawing couldn't quite catch. Therefore, landscape scenery is pleasant to someone who wants a pretty, natural picture for an electronic device.
I think these landscape pictures drawn by Ansel Adams are amazing. I very much enjoy the beautiful features of them. I think they could be used as a jumping off point to a creative writing piece because they all have meanings to them. This would great for creative writing because kids would be able to relate to this amazing photos let alone write a creative story about them. Also they made me think of different characters like you had said. The characters could be based on many of the pictures he had drawn. Ansel Adams' pictures are very inspiring for a creative writing piece. This is because it seems like each picture has its own separate story that is so beautiful but sad at the same time. I feel like it would be very easy to write a creative writing peice on some of these pictures. Some of the picutres are just confusing to me. One of the picutes looked like a bed cover that was wrinkled or it could have been sand that was beautifully arranged. That is why I feel like these pictures would be a very good jumping off point to a very meaninful and beautiful creative story.
I love taking pictures of landscapes because it captures the wonders of nature, which are too often taken for granted today. For instance, look at the amount of litter across America! In every park there is a stray candy wrapper, in every pond there is a cigarrete stub. These beautiful parts of nature are abused by people's unthoughtfullness, their ability to care about the world in which they live. By taking landscape photography it might make people who see it think about how hard it might be next time to walk 15 feet to a trash can and throw their garbage out. This is why I love taking pictures of landscapes.

I do not agree with you when you said that the pictures would not help you with a creative story. I think this becasue to me these pictures set a little movie in my head. Most of the pictures are a disater. You could write about how it happened of a character went there and what they thought. That is why i disagree with you when you said that the picutres would not be able to help make a creative story.

I agree with you because the wonders of nature are very inspiring and unique. When you look at the glittering ocean, the prism-like waterfalls, the regal mountains, the open desert sands, it just sparks something in the creative person's head. Each picture has a feeling attached to it, like joy to a burbling stream, or wonder to a clear starry sky. These feelings on paper make the experience permanent and avaliable to all who can read, which proves why nature is a great way to get inspired for a personal narritive.
I love to take pictures-photograpghy is a hobby and his pictures arre an inspiration. He is an inspiration because he takes amazing photograghs. That is why he is an inspiration to me.

I do not really enjoy landscape photography. This is because they normally have to do with nature. I think that nature is boring. Although I could use these photos as a jumping off point for my writing. The landscapes are just too sad and dull. Except for that one where there is a road in the middle of all this crabgrass. That one is more spooky. Overall I do not enjoy landscape photography.

I thought that Adam's landscape pictures were amazing. Landscape photography can be very beautiful and can easily be used to create a story. Landscape photos don't show much information and can be interpreted in many different ways. For example, he picture of the blurry road can be taken as a dream like it said in the article, or something more mysterious. So because of the many ways to interpret photos, especially Adam's landscape photos, they can be used to generate ideas for a creative writing piece.
I agree with cav98 when you said that the landscape photos show differences between untouched nature and populated cities. Some photos show large open areas of mountains or fields, while some show populated area with many people, cars, or buildings. For example, the first photo that the article showed of Adam's was of mount Mckinley. It showed beautiful untouched nature. While another shows a long street with hundreds of people. Both are landscape photos, but they have completely different meanings and show two different things. So landscape photos can show differences between true nature, and man made areas.
I do really enjoy Adams photography because I can really connect to it. In most of his mountainous landscape pictures, I have been to those places. For example the first picture that came up was of Mt. Denali where I have been. it is very easy for me to start a creative writing piece in my mind, out of my own experiences. In my house I have a picture of el captain, from Yosemite national park. I have been there as well and can already think of many experiences to write about. For example, I could write about swimming in a waterfall. This is why it would be a great jumping off point for my writing.
I agree that taking pictures captures the Beauty of nature. We sometimes forget how great nature is in living in small monroe. When looking at these pictures it reminds me of the greatness of the earth. When I look outside my window all I see are trees but when I look at the pictures I look to the giant mountains and scenery. It captured how breath taking the picture was reminding me how amazing our world really is.
I think that Adams photographs are incredible. I also can't believe that he carried such a nice, high quality camera across the American West as the article said. I think that because pictures that good must come from an astonishing camera.
@Ali M I agree about enjoying the photography but I disagree about connecting to it because I do not really like pioneering that much and I also haven't been to any of those places or any mountain. That is why I can not really connect to this photograph.
i agree with MRAjGE because i also think landscape photos could inspire some good creative writing. For example the painting with the mountain and the lake could be a great scene for a story or inspiration for a poem. Also these photos make you think about the story behind each photo like what is this or how did this happen. A good writing idea comes from something that makes you think and landscape photos do.
Not only are these photos amazing anad breathtaking, but they also give me different view of life because I feel as if we only really see the city, and not the beatiful nayure on the other. The picutre of the mountains showed me that there is more in the world than just tall buildings and outlets. Many people have stopped carrying about what mother nature has brought us and Ansel Adams has reminded us about the natural beauty. His photograohy definitely gave me good ideas about writing.

Immediately, when I think about it in my head, I imagine some dramatic or heart-stopping scene that I could incorporate into the landscape. That is why I agree with you completely.

I agree with you that landscape photograpy captures the beauty of nature because it shows how amazing what we see around us is. My favorite kind of pictures to take are those that show what the area around me looks like. A picture of a shimmering lake, a falling water droplet, or an expanse of trees really puls out something inside me. It makes me want to explore nature and all of us really take advantage of nature. Littering really is a horrendous crime to defile the beautiful place which we live in.
Therefore, I agree that landscape photography captures the beauty of nature because it can bring you a spectacular image of something people witness everyday and take advantage of.
Ansel Adams' work truly captures natures true beauty by showing us the world that has not been touched by mankind. The picture of Mount McKinley shows majestic mountains, a clear lake, and the slight reflection of evergreens. Nowhere in sight is a building, factory or even human footprints. Therefore since, the picture has no trace of human interaction, and is still serene and stunning, Ansel Adams truly shows natures untouched beauty.
I believe that Ansel Adams' work is truly a good jumping off point for my writing because there is so many places to use specific sensory details. In my writing I could describe the mountains, or base a story off the shimmering, reflective pond. There are man opportunities to use SSD, so I believe that I could use Ansel Adams' work for a jumping off point in my writing.
I could definetly use one of the photos as a jumping off point because there is a wide variety of photos, so it would be fairly easy to write a creative writing piece. I highly enjoy landscape photography because it shows a strip of wildlife untouched by human kind.
One of these photos could definitely be used as a jumping off point for some creative writing. The seventh picture of the waterfalls could be used as one. You could create great sensory details from the photo, and even make the reader feel a little dreamy, like the picture made people. Therefore, pictures could be used as a jumping off point for some creative writing because you could create sensory details and feelings.

I also think that sometimes it can be a little plain and boring, but other times it can be colorful, have many details, and be inspirational. These photos also can make a great story. A single photo can have hundreds of possibilities for a story. Therefore, landscape photography can be boring yet sometimes interesting, and the photos can make great stories.
I think one of these photos could definitely be a starting point for one of my next essays. It really leaves your mind open and able to wander, and I think you can really imagine any situation you want to with these pictures. You have a really nice setting, now all you need to do is be a bit creative and the you've got yourself a pretty good plan to start writing with. So because of the fact the pictures are so broad and out there, it would be a great way to think of a good starting off point for my stories.

I agree with you. The pictures could definitely set a bit of a dreamy mood when the reader reads these pieces. They take you to a whole new place, where it's just beauty. This is a good starting point for writing because then you can let your mind roam free, and think openly with this pretty area in the back of your mind. therefore, I agree with you that this picture is a good starting point for writing pieces.
I could definitley use on of these landscapes as a jumping off point for some creative writing. The natural beauty of these photographs strikes awe into you, and you can't help but be inspired in some way, and have a need to express these feelings through writing. For these reasons could I most certainly use these pictures as a jumping off point for some creative writing.
As for my enjoyment of landscape photography, I do not have a particular enjoyment for it, but Ansel Adams does a wonderful job with his photography. Usually I find landscape photography dull and boring (what's so exciting about a rock)? Therefore, while in general I don't like landscape photography, I will have to make an exception for Ansel Adam's works.

i agree with you when you say that it would be easy to use these photographs as jumping off points for creative writing because there is such a wide varity of the photos. Not only are there alot of photos, Kirill, but there are so many ideas that can stem from one piece of art. Therefore, because the potential for inspiration from these pictures is so great, I agree with you when you say that it would be easy to use these pictures as jumping off points for creative writing.

I agree with you because I could use one of the photos for a creative writing piece. Sometimes, the photos can show what a person's traits are. For example, a desert might show that a person enjoys going many places and is easily pushed around. It might also show that they can be very serious. This is why this would be such a good kicking off point for an essay.

I totally agree with you about how nature is an amazing thing and we totally take it for granted. For example when I was little and would ride in the car to Vermont I would just stare out the window and take in the beauty. But now that I am older I just play games on my ipod and don't even notice the outside. After seeing these pictures I started just listening to music and watching the beautiful landscape around me. I even started to take pictures to paint later when I got home. Nature is really just beauty at its finest and I also think that goes along with todays world with people. I lot of people think that if they make themselves more synthetic they are prettier when that is really not the case. For example, Snooki tans herself until she looks orange, and wears a pound of makeup a day. While Taylor Swift barely wears any makeup and has pale natural skin. If you ask me Taylor Swift is much much much more prettier than Snooki. Natural beauty is really as good as it gets. These pictures where taken just raw from nature and honestly thats how people should be, no fake tans, no over the top make up, no ridiculous surgeries, just natural people
Although I really enjoy using pictures as jumping off point for stories I can't really see myself using this picture as a jumping off point. For me using people as jumping points is easier. For example, when I am in the car and bored out of my mind on the highway I look out the window. When I look out the window I find a random stranger riding along in their car and come up for a backstory for them in my head. This exercise can keep my occupied for hours. The stories can be simple of elaborate. I come up with reasons for every detail like why they are wearing flannel or have a scar on their cheek. (They are wearing a flannel becuase it was their fathers and the father just passed away from a heart attack.... ect) For me this is much more interesting than using a mountain as a jumping off point.
I think that his mountian photograph was a great starting off piont because it's a snowy mountian top. There's mmisty clouds around. It's a very dreamy mood aor relaxing. You could take this wonderful photograph and put it in a moving writing peice.

I think that the picture of the mountain is a perfect picture setting. I think this because it has nature, a lake, and it appears to have nothing else around it.

I agree because the picture inspires people to write good stories. This is mainly because of the mood that it sets into your head.
I really enjoy landscape photography. Most of the time it's very inspiring because of the creativity and detail that is in it. It can also inspire other people to become more interested in photography and have a better imagination to write. For example, when you see a piece of photography, such as a snowy mountain, you might want to write a descriptive short story describing the landscape. All in all, landscape photography is very beautiful and can be very inspiring.
@Kayleigh, I agree with when you said, "You could take this wonderful photograph and put it in a moving writing piece." If you are given just about any piece of landscape photography, you could definitely be able to write a lot about its details and the picture itself. Landscape photography is a great starting point because it gives you something creative to use as a guide for a really good writing piece.
The pictures Ansel Adams takes do inspire me. One reason why is because lots of the pictures are of tropical places so that inspires me to do creative writing on an island adventure.
I do like landscape photos because they allow you to see places that you haven't seen before and things in nature that you haven't noticed.

I have recently become obsessed with photography! Photographers like Adams make me want to explore the world just to take beautiful pictures. I recently download a photo sharing app on my phone called Instagram, and I is really exciting to take photos and share them to other people to be appreciated. Great photos like these can easy be written about in creative writing, in fact for my next Creative Writing piece, I might take a photo and write about it.
@ Isabelle G. I think that people are great topics to write about creatively, but I think landscape photos have more character and have more to interpret. Why is it sunny? Why is the sky red? Why are there horses? Etc... There are sooo many different way to interpret them.
I have always loved photography in general and I find it so inspirational. It's something I've taken up as a hobby, and on a side note, my dad's getting me a professional camera for my birthday which is this Wednesday. Woo! Anyway, I feel that landscape photography is inspirational and can influence creative writing because there is nothing more beautiful than the earth and its natural features such as mountains, oceans, valleys, etc. I believe that I could write a creative writing piece off of a picture of a landscape.

I think this is important to see and witness. Adams is a very good photographer, obviously. He captures remarkable pictures on his camera.
I could certainly use these photos as jumping off points for my writing. As an example,the first picture of MT. McKinley by Ansel Adams, brings to mind skiing in the mountains at Park City Utah. Another example, the seventh picture by the Japanese photographer reminded me of Niagara Falls which has me imagine finding a hidden cave and having a waterfall all to myself. Nature and these beautiful photographs are inspiring in very many ways.
I really liked this piece of photography. It was interesting yet mysterious. I do seem to enjoy landscape photography very much. I liked how a lot of Ansel Adams’ photos are black and white. I think this would definitely be a jumping off point for creative writing. It probably would a great starting point for writing. This is why i like Ansel Adams’ landscape photographs.
I agree with Grasce S that photography can inspire one's imagination. I like to think what it would have been like to take the picture. Just consider what it's like to carry all your equipment in to the wilderness, fight ing the weather for a perfect exposure. Imagine Ansel Adams climbing a mountain, he would carry a 6-1/2 x 8-1/2 glass plate camera and wait for just the right moment for nature to reveal it's magic.

I enjoy Adam's work, as the nature photos are very beautiful, inspiring and simply vivid. In the article, they show a piece of his artwork from Mt. Mickinly, which is very good. It shows are very detailed photo of the large mountain, with a lake on the bottom of it coated with trees. In addition, I saw a photo of a desert, which was perfect. The photo showed the ripples in the sand, untouched by humans besides the Egyptians from centuries ago. These photos are even better thanks to one thing; they are natural. All the photos he has are untouched by humans, which makes them even more relaxing. Therefore, since these photos are natural and relaxing, I admire Adams.

I agree with you that the photos are beautiful because they are natural. In the first photo, they show a very good photo view of Mt. Mickinly from a nearby hill overlooking a lake. This photo is simply detailed, with the trees shadows over the lake, and that it is untouched by man. In addition, the photo of a desert is also beautiful because of the shadow views. You can tell that the sun is setting and not overhead because from one side of the hilly sand, it is dark and casting a shadow due to the sunset. Also, the ripples in the sand are very detailed, making the picture that much better. Therefore, because the photos are beautiful and natural, I agree with you that his work is beautiful.
I enjoy looking at these landscape photos. I enjoy it because it reminds me that this world is still beautiful and it is not just murders,war, and global warming. I think of the world as bad because that is all every one talks about. No one talks about the good thing in the world any more.
I really enjoy looking at these pictures. They inspire me a lot to take photographs of more places. They remind me of how much the world is amazing and how much the world means to me. These are very beautiful in many ways. The pictures enhance the quality of the unique land forms. The different layers of color in the one with the volcano is very pretty. It makes it look very lively. The picture with the waterfalls, reminds you how peaceful the world really is. It really helps you realize what the good things are on our planet still.

I agree with you. I think that these pictures really remind you about the only good things left in our world. Every one seems to be focusing only on the bad things, such as war. Looking at these pictures show you what the world is really about, and how much it means to us. These land forms are so perfect.
I'm not the biggest person that is interested in photography, although, I like Ansel Adam's pictures he captured a lot and find it peaceful. It's pretty amazing to see pictures like these, especially since it was a long time ago, and they didn't have the best camera quality. I could absolutely use one of these as a jumping off point for writing. Some of these pictures are pretty descriptive, I could write about what exactly I saw, heard, what the weather was like, Etc. That's why I find it peaceful, these are incredible pictures to look at with beautiful scenery, They do not a lot action.
I enjoy landscape photography because I think with nothing to direct you eyes to like a person or animal you can really enjoy the beauty in nature and look closer at the picture and enjoy it more.
I believe that Ansel Adams' photography is very inspiring because they would be great to base some creative writing on. These pictures are just so beautiful and really have an eliminate of mystery and magic to them that just makes you want to write. Another thing about these pictures is that they are just so creative and makes you think of a great fantasy book, like looking at a the world through a different lens. Therefore, these photos are very inspiring to write about because they are so fascinating.

@RyanT I disagree with you. I don't think nature is boring, I think it's beautiful. Just to go outside, breathe fresh air, listen to the birds chirping, or watch the deer run across your front lawn, or to enjoy the flowers as they bloom in Spring, is not boring. That's why I disagree with you. It's entertaining to watch all the wildlife animals,and all the flowers and tree in Spring are beautiful to watch, as they bloom.
I do think that landscapes can be used for creative writing pieces because most creative writing pieces aren't just created without a baseline, they use a picture or an event to use as a guideline.

For Boy Scout trips. I have been to the top of the highest mountain in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and I have hiked the Appalachian Trail. This photo is so vivid and full of life, it's almost like being there. I think this photo could very easily inspire a short story. I love landscape photography, there is so much potential in the land.

I agree with you. I also go hiking with Boy Scouts. I have done a bit of hiking, but I don't think it was that extreme. I also agree that the photo is so well captured that it almost appears to be alive.
