With a Little Help From Your Friends
In Lisi Harrison's novel Boys R Us , Massie gets left out by her "clique" of friends. Is this something you worry about? How would you react if your friends all turned against you?

I never worry about being kicked out of my group of friends. There is no reason to. We have all known eachother for a long time and would have no reason at all to get mad at one another. They wouldn't be good friends to have if they did kick me out. I would find someone who is nicer to hang with. If for some reason everyone did turn against me I would feel hurt. I would wonder what I did that was so bad to deserve the hurt. I may be mad at first but soon I would get over it and find someone else to spend my time with.
i really wouldnt worry , i have really good friends that care about me and if they really were my friends they wouldnt turn on me, but if my friends ever did turn on me i wouldn't worry beacause i would just make new friends beacause im a friendly person(i think), but i would be hurt, and get better friends to make them feel bad for turning on me.
i wouldnt worry at all. I know my friends would never do that ive been with them for more then 4 yrs. They are to good of friends to anything as mean as that If they did i always have my other group.
I see a lot of people commenting that they don't worry about losing friends because they are so close...wouldn't that make the betrayal even harder to take?
I would worry about not having alot of friends anymore, but obviously they aren't true friends if they do that to you. Therefore, Massie should not really be worried, and be more focused on finding a new group of friends that would truely care about her and not like her for just her things, but herself.
I would feel worried, but i dont have just one group of friends. I would know that if my friends left me out that they werent my true friends. I would talk to them about it and see why they decided to ditch me.
Mr. Horvath posted that since we are all so close to our friends that if our friends betrayed us it would be so hard to accept. For example, if my best friends decided to turn on me I would wonder if they were ever true friends like LittleMissSunshine said. Also, I would be truely crushed that I trusted them for all these years and found out that none of them really cared.
if my bestfriend betrayed me i would be surprised because we are so close. but i have friends from all cliques so i wouldnt really worry about anything... but i would be really sad if me and my best fried were not friends anymore!!
I have a bunch of friends and i love them so much they could practically be my family. I usually don't think about what it would be like if all my friends turned against me but once in a while i can say that it crossed my mind. I don't worry about it all the time though because we are all very close and even if we did get into a fight or something i know that it wouldn't be long unitl we are all friends again. If my friends did turn against me and they weren't showing any signs of breaking soon i would feel really betrayed and hurt. It would be different though if i knew what i did was wrong that made them turn against me.
I have a group of friends who love me no matter what and i love them just the same. On the other hand there are a couple that im not so sure about, and I wouldn't be suprised if they left me. However, if the group friends friends who i love left me, i would feel like what a lot of other people said; betrayed, used, and sad. If they did leave, i would think why they even became my friend in the first place. I dont think of this happening because i never want to think of something bad, like this situation, that might happen to me.
A agree with ds11 because the bond that I share with my friends is far greater then any normal one. The odds of my companions abandoning me is probally a million to one. But if they did then I would ask questions why we are no longer friends. If they would not accept me back well then I would find new friends.
I don't worry about that, but if it did happen, I would probably be okay because I'm VERY independent. I work faster alone, and prefer to do things alone. I DO enjoy their company, and care deeply about them. But, I would still be ME if they turned on me. Yes, I would be hurt that they did that. But, I have very good friends, and don't expect anything like that from them.
I don't really worry about my friends turning on me, no, and if they did, well of course most people would be hurt. So would I, I'm no exception, but I wouldn't try to gain them back. Hey, if they left in the first place, it must mean they DON'T want to be friends. I wouldn't be an idiot and try to win them back.I wouldn't DO anything. I'd move on. Some people are a little too co-dependent.
I would be really hurt if i found out that one of my best friends turned on me. I trust them with everything and i feel like i can always talk to them. Without these friends my life would be miserable. But, something good would come out of it because friends that turn on you are not good friends to begin with. Then i would be able to make better friends that i will be able to trust more than the previous friends.
I would be very worried if my friends ever turned on me but luckly i have the best friends in the world!!!!!!On the other hand if my friends did turn on me then i would be mad/sad. This is because i tell my friends everything so this might mean putting all the stuff i told them on risk of being told. Long story short i trust my friends. :)
I think a lot of people commenting here are too sure of their place inside their social circle. Step back for a second...if you were totally shut out...no one responding to texts, changed facebook statuses, empty seats around you at the lunch table...how would you react? Do you win them back? Do you ignore them and internalize your feelings? Do you share with a mentor/coach/parent? An extension of this thought...have you ever seen someone shut out of their peer group? Did you do anything? Did you go out of your way to make them feel welcome around you instead, even if you didn't know them? Why did you do that? Why didn't you?
if my friends totally shut me out, then i would try to see what i did wrong. if they keep ignoring me i know they are not my true friends. i would try to find other friends and branch out. thats why its good to have more than one group of friends. i dont think this is ever going to happen though, because my freinds and i are really close and would never do anything like that. if something was to happen it would make the betrayal even harder because we are so close.
I agree with jess:) true friends wont turn on you but you would still be really mad if they did I also agree with KENDAL:) it would really hurt and you trust your friends and for them to just turn on you its really mean :(

I would feel used and forgotten. And i would worry about this, i would try to work things out and figure out why they left me out.

I agree with Mdancer on this one. My friends are there for me, but on the off chance that they left me, i would feel extremely betrayed

True friends wouldn't turn on you, but yes I would be extremly betrayed because we are so close. But I really agree with MDancer xo.

Keep up all the insightful work... - H

I trust my friends enough to know that they wouldn't turn their backs on me.
