Personal Blogs
A lot of my students last year set up their own blogs. They gave their blog addresses to friends and teachers etc. Some wanted to share their thoughts with everyone on our class blog and I offered a spot on the blog to link to student blogs. If you have a blog/tumblr etc and want to give your peers access to your thoughts and writing just let me know anfd I will put your blog link on the homepage of the class blog.

I have a tumblr! I don't want to share it though because i dont really do a lot of writing on it. However, it is a great in the fact that we can read each other's writing and share our own.
I think that it is a good idea for some people to make blogs so that their peers can read it and comment on it. I might let us get to know each other a little more. It would give us a chance to see what our peers are thinking.It would be a great thing to do.
i have multiple blogs from over the years but i only use one right now stil which is my tumblr. I only really use it for myself and dont really share it. I think it would be a great for people to be able to share their writting on the internet.
I think that having a blog is a great way for people to share their writing online. Since I do not have a blog, I would read other peoples' to see their style of writing and to get ideas for my own writing piecces.
I think that would be a good idea as well. People can see their classmates thoughts and it would be great to have access to them from this blog. Its a good way to interact with peers and comment on their thoughts.
Thats a cool idea because then we can all see each other's thoughts and blogs,
i think this will help for us to learn about students because we can blog what we are thinking, and get feed back on your thought. also there was a spelling error in the last sentence
I have a tumblr, but its kind of personal that i wouldnt want everyone to see. Although, i think this is a great idea if you want to see other peoples ideas and opinions.
That’s interesting. It would be cool to read about everyone’s thoughts. But it seems that people don’t want to share theirs. I don’t think anyone should be embarrassed. That would be interesting, though.
I think thats a good idea because it would be nice to share good ideas about something.
I do agree that it is good that we will have the ability to share our thoughts and writing, however I don't know how useful it will be. If anyone can link their blog to the homepage then how do you know that the stuff they post will be worth reading? Also, this may just be my opinion, but I don't think many kids will go on to read their peers work.
that's a good idea! but from reading the posts it seems like some peoples' blogs are personal, so they don't want to share them. I don't have a tumblr/blog, but I'll check out other peoples' if they do choose to post them! It'll be cool to see other kids' writing outside of school.
I think this is a good idea because this is the first blog I have ever gone on and I think it would be interesting what other people do so if I ever make my own I would already have some ideas to put on my blog.
I think that is a good idea because you will be able to read other people’s ideas and writing and that can give you your own ideas. Also, other people can read your own writing and ideas and that can help them. You can also get feedback on what people think you need to improve on.
I think this could be something somepeople might do, but I won't. I don't have a blog or a tumbr so, I dont have anything to put up. For people who like to write, this could be a good way to share some writing.
well mr.horvath i had no idea that we could have a personal blog. i think it is a good i dea because we can share our thought with our friends and they can comment on our ideas.
I think that having a personal blog is a good idea, but since I don't have my own blog, i would read other people's blogs to come up with writing topics for my own writing.
I have blogs...but they're not about writing and reading and stuff. But I like the idea of sharing writing ideas. Maybe we could have an open blog where anyone can post things and comment.
I had a blog also but it wasn't about writing and reading...... it was about advice. But I think it would be a great idea to be able to look at other peoples blogs.
I have a tumblr, but it's mainly about personal things that I wouldn't want a lot of people reading, but making your own blog for reading and writing is a good idea too!

I think it could be interesting to to observe the progression of this idea. I'm not sure that I would actually make my own blog. It's much more likely that I would look at others' blogs. I could also be interesting to see how many people actually follow up with the suggestion.
I think that setting up your own blog is a tremendous idea! I think it will get for everyone to know eachother a lot better.

i think it is a good idea but for me it is easier for me to blog on something and not have other people blog on my topics because I would have problems thinking of things that people could blog about. I don't really know what people would want to talk about.
I think it would be a good idea so classmates can read each others blogs and get an idea of what to talk about. Also it helps students and teachers to get information and it would help students to be organized.
That would be cool. It would be fun to get to read everyones writing and people would be able to read mine.
I tried to make a blog once but found it hard to keep up with....also no one was commenting so there was like no point
I don't think personal blogs are very practical for us, because most of us won't keep up with them. Also, there will be much fewer commentors.
this might not be a good idea because personal things could be on their blogs and they wont want people reading.
I also agree, having a blog that allows students to share their writing and get positive yet critical feedback is an excellent idea. It also allows people to have a chance to improve their writing with other people’s feedback and ideas.
I have a tumblr, but i don't really do alot of writing on it. However i think that would be a really good idea, to see what people think, write about,and there process and techniques.
