Whodunnit? The Baker?
The hit-and-run driver in "A Small Good Thing" is a flat character. What do you think he looks like? Also, is there a chance that the driver could be the baker? Explain.

I think the hit-and-run driver looks like a serious looking business man who works outside of anything to do with children, or he might have known that that could be severe when he hit Scotty and he may have gotten out of his car to help him. Also, I don't think it was the baker because this happened when Scotty was walking home from school in the afternoon, which is likely when the baker was working.
he is big and fat . has black hair and a beard too. is very short too. i think he was the one who hit scotty. he tyried to hide it by giving the parents food and saying i know how u feel.
I think the hit and run driver is a guy that is in his 20s and is fat and short. I don't think the driver can be the baker because when Scotty's mom goes to see him about why she did not pick up the cake he probably would have told her that he killed her son.
i think that there is no way to tell what he looks like. i think i can infer that he was in a hurry and when he saw the boy get up he thought that he was fine. mabee he was going to see the other boy in the hospital, franky and needed th speak to his son one last time and was in such a hurry that he kept driving
I think the hit and run driver had long messy blond hair and brown eyes.Also was tall ,and wore ripped jeans and a black leather jacket.I think the baker was the driver because, At first he would not let Scotty's parents in to talk. Also when the parents brought up Scotty and how he got hit by a car the baker sounded frazzled.He also he fooled them by trying to feel bad for them and giving them food.
I think that the baker would look like a tall man with scrapes under his arm and with brown eyes.I dont think that the driver was the backer because he wanted a family and if he did why would he hit scotty.Also how could the driver be the baker, scotty was walking to school and the baker was making his cake.
Anonymous, the question was asking about the traits of the hit and run driver, not the baker, the baker is described in the story, i thought that the hiut and run driver was male, was tall, and had brown hair and blue eyes, he was most likely the kind of old man who had bags under his eyes and always lookes depressed and unhappy
i think the baker looks very messy. like his hair is messed up and he has a beard. aslo i don't think th baker is the hit and run driver because most business owners don't leave their shop, run over a kid, and not do anything. there is just no chance.
Yes, I think there is a very large possibility that the baker was the hit-and-run driver. I think thisw because maybe after he heard that scotty was hit by a car, he realized it was him and maybe that was why he was so empathetic.
I think the hit and run driver looks fat and short. In addition he has green eyes and is dressed very nicly. He has a purple long sleve shirt on and black dress pants on. Also he has brown dress shoes and black socks on. I don't believe that the baker could be the hit and run driver. This is because the baker didn't do anything to the family yet so the family wasn't mad yet. Also the baker didn't know what Scotty looked like so even if it was by accident still the baker had nothing against the family yet.
Also, I think the baker is a tall plump man with with a orange gotee and no hair with blue eyes. He is wearing an aprin with a chef hat and has flour on his aprin. He has on a chef coat and white chef pants with black shoes.
I think the baker is a plump man with dark hair and a white apron. The hit and run driver could have been from Franklins party (the boy who was stabbed) and the driver was trying to get franklin to a hospital or he was the one who stabbed franklin and was trying to get away
I think the baker did not do it. He was talking about the cake when he said, "are you for getting Scotty?" I don't even think he was aware that he was runover. He knew scottys name from the cake.
I think the hit and run driver is a round character. Throughout the story they were trying to find who the person was. That makes him an important character in the story. I thnk he looks like a normal person. I don't think the hit and run driver was the baker. He felt too bad when he found out that scotty had died
I also agree i do not think it was the baker he seemed very comforting when he found out about Scotty it didn't seem like he acted guilty or anything like that.
