i dont think the song's falling out of love. i think the songs about missing someone you love, it sounds as if he misses a girlfriend or an ex. i can relate to the authors mood/tone of the song because once my friend went out with a kid i went out with and i sort of missed being with him. my favorite part of the song :

it reminds me of all the times ive had with friends. i dont think the song is about an ex because when he thinks of them he doesnt feel alone and with an ex, you'd be pretty upset when you think about them.
I agree with Laura. The real meaning is exactly what Laura said. He misses someone (his girlfriend that died before his album came out) this song is about her.

That part is about him missing his girlfriend and wishing see was back on Earth, but then realizes that she is in a better place.
I can relate because when my grandma died I really missed her
i actually agree with Mr. Horvath. The song reminds me of someone who is out of love and needs more. He must miss his ex-girlfriend and wrote a song about it.

I listen to owl city alot. one sond that i listen to is fireflies. I have not listened to vinela twilight but my uncle has and he loves it.
I have listend to owl city and i know alot of songs. i have never heard of that song but my uncle has and he says that it is realy good.
