"Bad Romance"

In the song "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga, she says, "I want your love and I want your revenge." She also says that she wants his "psycho", his "ugly", and his "disease". This says that she is willing to accept everything that comes with being with him. Why do you think she associates these things with a "Bad Romance"? Also, she says she only wants these things "as long as it's free," meaning she wouldn't give anything up to love him. Why?

i think she associates "ugly" "disease" and "psyco" as a bad romance because they all have a bad meaning to them. "Ugly" means that someone is not attractive, "psyco" means that he's crazy, and "disease" means that theres something in him that she wants to catch. Each of these mean a bad thing in life so she called it "bad Romance.

When she says "as long as its free" it means that she probably really doesnt love him. She just wants to use him for right now and let go of him later. Pretty much she is getting what she wants out of him then making him leave.

I think that "Bad Romance" is more associated with a love that is not supposed to happen, and I agree with BowenS when he says she is using whoever this song is about, or at least that is what I think the song is portraying. I think that "ugly", "disease" and "psyco" are ways to say she is willing to accept him for who he is. But when associated with "bad romance" and "as long as it's free" I think if she met a different guy, a "better" guy, then she would leave him before he could even ask why. Or she could already have a "better" guy on her mind.

There is somthing to be said about the refrences that people sing about today, call me old fasioned, but I would rather listen to Guns N' Roses than Lady Gaga. I agree with Bowen, she is definately using the man in the song, without having a feeling of love towards him. She wants to accept him, but not really love him, the reason that she uses the words "Ugly" "Disease" and "Psyco" I don't think that she has a better guy in mind, I think that she has any guy in mind that will come within 10 feet of her. That is why she called the song "Bad Romance", she is showing that any romance that she has will be bad romance.

Come on, you know who it is said...

I think Lady GaGa associates these things with a bad romance because most regular good romances are people who like everything about each other and in this romance she says that she doesn't care if hes ugly and crazy but she likes him anyways, that is why it is a "Bad" romance. In this case i believe bad refers to different or abnormal. As far as the line "I want your everything as long as it's free", she means that she want's him as long as she doesn't have to pay a ridiculous price.

For me, this is a confusing yet interpretive song. At first listen, You would think that she hates being in love with this guy. Then when analyzing this song, you notice that she likes him. But then when you analyze the music video, she is struggling to get out of this relationship. But after a while of analyzing both, I realized that this song is about being sold into a sexual relationship. This was more interpretted by the music video, but the song helped as well. She is trying to seduce this guy by dancing for him, and you can see the men bidding on her. She is more the "main attraction" in this display. Also, you can see that the two women who take her out of the bathtub are forcefully making her drink, even when she resists. And even afterwards, when the second verse begins, she is struggling to keep the cloth that covers up her whole body on. By the hinting that she wants this guy's "everything," I believe she is trying to seduce him into a "false" relationship. If i'm not mistaken, a false relationship is not really a good one.

I also like "Come on... 's" take on this piece of work. Even though he is crazy, ugly, and she wants everything about him, it would not be a good romance because it would be abnormal.

All in all, when analyzed, a genious piece of work. Lady GaGa is immensely talented, no matter what anyone says ;)

I think she assoisiates this lyics with bad ramance because she will take him with whatever he comes with, but won't give him anything. This would be considered a bad relationship because it is almost like parasitisum. It helps her but whoever he is, has to give her everything. basicly I think she is despete for someone, but judging by the fact that she wants it free makes me think that she isn't going to stay with this person for a long time. After reading other posts I see that others have also came to the conclusion that it is not a long term reationship.

I think she adds those things in saying that she wants him no matter what flaws or problems he. she doesnt care if he is ugly, a physco, or has a disease. she loves him and wants him anyways! she says as "long as its free" because even thought she wants him with or without those flaws, she doesnt want to be weighted down with them. she doesnt want it to have to cost her. she wants them to be together without any problems.
**Great Song!!!!**

i agree with many of these comments that say she is using the person she is talking about. and she doesnt care whats wrong with him, she just wants som random guy to fool around with for a while. then when shes tired of him she'll dump him on the street and be 'free' of him. No strings attatched. in my opinion people like that are sick and disgusting. I would never play with someone's emotions like that. Disgusting.

i agree with meg. that she's saying she doesn't care what he look's like, if hes physco, etc. just all she wants is his love..like she sings in the song. i also agree with mae-neko, that noone should fool with people emotionss, she just wants to be with someone.

I love the discussion on this post...this is all about DICTION...think about it. This is debating the word choice of a writer. Are the words intentional? What kind of connotation do they have? This is the kind of debate we need to have about our own writing as we revise etc. Keep it up!!!

I agree with ColinD i dont think that lady GaGa really loves this person and she is probly just stringing im on. I Belive when she uses the word "ugly" i dont think that she is talking about him being ugly more as i think she is talking about their relationship being ugly. For example mabey they have no communuication or they just dont get along.

Because she doesn't care how many STDs or other girls/guys he's/she's all up in. As long as she does not have to pay for his/her "love" shes all good. Because that would be a felony for prostitution. But the point is is that she loves Him/her no matter the dirtyness or 'naughtyness' of this boy, or girl which ever way she goes.

I think Lady Gaga assosiates with a bad romance because I think she is trying to tell everyone that life isn't a good romance all the time and that love will not always be perfect but she is giving eveything up to love him as long as it is free because she loves this person first of all and when you love someone you would do anything for that person but i think she wants it to be "free" because she could possibly be teasing him. Maybe she knows that he loves her back but it's an off and on thing.
