Grow Up Peter Pan

submitted by Kim - We all look back fondly on the simplicity of our lives when we were really little.  I also remember how much I looked forward to getting older.  It is strange that now we wish for those early childhood days.  Would you give up all of your new freedoms for the simple fun life you had when you were little?

I would love to go back to my childhood because now that we are gtting older we take school more seriously and really stress about our grades to get a good report card. but when we were little school was just a place to play with friends on the big swirly slide at recess. it wasnt always about work and tests all the time. as kids we were never stressed out or had to worry about drugs alchohol etc. i loveed the good old days!

I would not like to go back to my childhood because I think that we all grow up for a reason. Sure we stress about school and take it more seriously, but that doesn't mean that we have to stop having fun like we did when we were little. Also, now that we are older we have more freedoms which can allow us to have more fun. I think that we all grow up for and reason, therefore I would not like to go back to my childhood.

That is a really good question; however I don’t think i would give up all of my freedom, just to get the easy life back. That is because, when I was little it was great now having anything to worry about, but at the same time, we were always watched by parents, and they always had to approve everything we did. As kids we never had a say in anything. Although it’s scary having all this freedom, and we are bound to make some mistakes, I like this learning experience stage of my life , and I would not give up my independance for the careless life I used to have controlled by my parents.

i wouldn't go back to my childhood. I enjoy having more freedom and more intelligence. Life as a child was a lot simpler because everything was done for us. However I like doing things for myself and having responsibilities. It is rewarding to be able to have independence and freedom. We all grow up for a reason and i would never give that up.

I like this post a lot because I think about it sometimes. I would really like to go back to my childhood maybe for a day or two because it is so carefree. When I was little, I remember I wouldnt care what anyone else thought of me. I would just focus on having fun. Now, especially in middle school and highschool, thats what everyone thinks about; what people will think. However, I do see where other people come from when they say they wouldnt want to give up their freedom just to be a child again. I do appreciate and enjoy my freedom, but it sometimes can get to my head. Therefore, I think I would like to re-live my childhood for just a day or two to experience the fun and carefree envirement that little kids have.

i agree with kelly because i too would like to go back for a day or two for the simple carefree life. but i would like to stay older because we wanted it so bad when we were little and now we are finally here.

I would not go back to my childhood because life is about growing up for example something you do in your childhood might effect what you do in later life in a positive or negative way, therefore I would not go back to my childhood.

I would not want to go back to my childhood. When your little you don’t get much freedom and don’t have a say in anything. Even though being older is tough with school I would not want to be little again

I would want to go back to my childhood because it was a lot more fun. For example, when we were younger our grades did not matter and everything was fun. While when you are older you have more freedom but, there is a lot of stress about how you will turn out when you are adults. Therefore, i would rather have a stress-free, fun life than a stress-ful, free life.

I can honestly say that I would give anything to be little again. Even though you don't get the freedom you have now everything was so easy. You could wake up at any time, spend the day in your pjs, watch cartoons all day, play around, and do antyhing and have your parents take the blame. When you are little there is no drama or stress. The only thing to worry about is what is on tv and what is in your lunchbox. Being little was an amazing time and i would love to go back. I would do anything!

I would give up all my new fredoms to go back to my childhood because when i was a child there was nothing to worry about. For example when i was 7 or 8 i was in kindergarden and we had no home work or tests which made life stress free. Therefore i would go back to my child hood because it is less stressful

Honestly I would not want to give up all my freedoms to go being a child again. We don't live in never ever land. Part of life is growing up and faces the hardships and freedom we receive or have to face in the future. It may seem as a fun and enjoyable thing to do, but when you’re that young you wish you were older. So why go back to time that you wish you were the age you were. It makes no sense. We had our fun. Life isn't fair and growing up is just something that has to happen no matter what.

I think every phase in life has its pros and cons so no I would not like to go back to when i was a little kid because I enjoy being older. Obviously I look back on my elementry years thinking I wish I had apprecaited it more but I love having more freedom and more respect for my opinnions now that im older. Therefore although i sometimes long to be a child again the pros of having more freedom and say out wiegh the cons of being a teenager.

I would love to go back to my childhood because there is forever to be an adult. For example, after the age of atleast 15, you are no longer a kid, and there is more time to be and adult than a kid. Therefore, the more time I get, the more time I will take to be a kid again!

I would not want to give up my freedoms to go back to childhood. I have been waiting for years now to get the freedom that I have now. We all want freedom when were younger too, but we do not get that because we are not responsible. Now we are and we don't want to lose our privileges and starting all over to get your parents to trust you enough to give you certain freedoms.

I would want to go back to my childhood because I would know what I would really need for the "next level".For example, I never really listened back little about things like parts of speech, and now it is catching up to me now because I don't get it while others do. Also I never realized how important a good shot in hockey was when I was little. If I practiced more when I was young, I would be scoring more now. Therefore, you can go back to your childhood and really focus on the things that you know will help you later on in life.

I still cant decide what if I want to go back to being a kid because I remember when I was little I wanted to be grown up and be able to do things on my own. I remember how simple everything was but I could never do anything on my own. Now that I'm older there is a lot more freedom but also a lot more responsibilities and I have learned a lot more about the world and how cruel it can be. So I really can't decide what I would choose because there are so many pros and cons to both ages.

I would love to go back to my earchild childhood because you do not have to worry about school and you do not have any responsibilities. For example, now we have to take school more seriously and be more responsible but when you were in your early childhood you would not have to worry about these things. Therefore I would like to go back to my early childhood.

I agree with Kim, I can not decide if I would want to give up all my freedoms to be a kid again because as a kid, life was less confuzing and stressful. When we were little the only things we did were east, sleep, and play, we never had to stress over grades. However, I want to grow up as well, taking on new responsibilities and more freedom. There are more opportunities and chances to be independent. Therefore, I really don't know which desicion I would choose.

Honestly i don't which one i would pick because they both sound like something i would want. For example going back to when i was a little kid would be so much fun no responsibilities, you could just relax and do nothing, and nobody cared what you whore or what you looked like you were friends with everybody. On the other hand though i don't want to give up the freedom that i have now. Yes, school is harder and your not friends with everyone you know, but its still fun to be a little les protected by your parents and teachers as well. Therefore this is one of those decitions i can't make.

I think it is all about wanting what we cant have. When I was little I
longed to be taller, able to drive, and have a cellphone. But now that
I am here, I would give anything to go back. Being little is so simple
and carefree. There is none of the stress, drama, or hard work that I
have now. So yes, I would LOVE to be a younger again, even if I
couldn't wait to grow up back then!

Childhood. The nine letter word that brings back good memories, laughs and a lot of life lessons. When i was a kid i didn't have to worry about getting all my homework in on time, getting good grades, acing all my tests, or stressing about my appearance. There was no such thing as caking on make-up, straightening hair until it was pin straight, or wearing the latest and most expensive clothing. People never matched and always wore the most colorful clothing and craziest hairstyles. My basic routine was to go to school, come back and play for hours and then go to sleep and do it all over again. I had a huge imagination so i always thought of crazy stories and games. I also loved to ride my bike and eat mac and cheese. I would absolutely love to go back in time and live a carefree and fun life again.

I always say that i wish i could go back to preschool or elementary school. Life back then wasnt full of homework and essays and reading and writing. It was fun, playing in sand, using buliding blocks, playing on the playgrounds. I always would love to go back to that. But now that we are going to be in high school, so grown up, i love where i am and i like being older and having all the responsibilites just make me feel like im growing up and soon enough ill have a car and then college. I love being this age.

When I was little, I always said that I wish I can just be older and I hate being young. But now that I am older, life is harder and I don't wish I could go back to my younger years because growing up is obviously a part of life and you have to go through difficulties and rough times but that is just one stage of your life and then you move on. Right now, I actually wish I was older because I don't like being young and I want to already be in high school and move on from middle school. Therefore, I wouldn't want to go back to my younger years because I want to skip over now and just be older.

I agree with Meren, When I was a little younger, I wanted to be taller. But as you can see I'm not taller. I'm always being picked on. I am small I wish that if I was at lwast 6 year younger, then I would learn to like milk because I know that milk makes you grow.
