Star Wars is definitely more science fiction than fantasy. There very few elements of the story that are not explained by science. Though Luke Skywalker sees people who are deceased, they could just be a figment of his imagination. Therefore, Star
Wars is not fantasy, and is Science Fiction.

Star Wars is definitely science fiction because nearly every aspect that is fiction can be explained by science. Light Sabers for example are explained can be explained by science although they are fictional, but a few things such as ghosts are not explained by science or the books. Anyways, Star Wars is Science Fiction, not Fantasy.

Star Wars is science fiction because the whole movie is explained by science. Light Sabers are expalined by science in the movie. Therfore, star wars is more science fiction than fantasy.

Although I have never seen a Star Wars movies, I think that the movies are considered science fiction. I think this because from what I have been told about the movies, it seems that what they put in them can be explained by science. For example, lightsabers use a certain chemical to help light it up (I read this online). Therefore, the Star Wars movies can be considered science fiction.

I think it is science fiction because everything in the movie is really related to science rather than a fantasy book therefore I think starwars is science fiction

I believe that Star Wars is more of a fantasy trilogy not only because of the weird people in it (Chewbacca and Yoda), but because of one major part: the Force. The Force is a huge contribution to the Star Wars universe, but it is never explained how people can move, predict, and see items or events using this unique ability. The only thing that is said about the Force, by Star Wars characters and the producers, are that "It is created by living things, and it surrounds everything and binds the galaxy together." Therefore, since there is no clear description of the ability, Star Wars fits perfectly in the fantasy genre.

I think Star Wars is more science fiction than fantasy because most of the things in Star Wars are explained by science. The space ships and lightsabers are both explained by science. Therefore, I think Star Wars is more sci-fi.

Star Wars should be considered science fiction more because most of the aspects of the movie is extremely realistic. For instance, most of the planets that are in Star Wars could be real places, like a desert, jungle, etc. Therefore, Star Wars should be considered science fiction because it is realistic.

I think Star Wars is defienetly science fiction because a lot of things has to do with science. Like Ted said, the space ships and lightsabers are explained by science. The manufacturing of all the technology has to do with sceince. Therefore, Star Wars is not fantasy, it is science fiction.

I think Star Wars is science fiction because there are many things that envolve science. For example flying ships lightsabers are made by using science unlike fantasy where theres magic and such. Therefore star wars is Si-Fi
because theres any expanation or science to back up the thoery of these items like flying ships and lightsabers.

Star Wars is Science Fiction and Fantasy. It is because there are science elements such as the lightsabers and flying ships. However there are fantasy elements that are the force powers which can also be considered magic. It is a great example of both genres but I think that it is more science fiction becasuse most of alot of the things can be explained by science. The flying ships, the laser guns, and the holograms can all be explained by science.

Star Wars is more science-fiction than fantasy because this movie involves a lot of technology. For example, all of the spaceships, lightsabers, etc. uses a lot of technology to create and use. Therefore, Star Wars is not a fantasy movie.

Along with Devin, I have never seen a Star Wars movie (or at least haven't in a long time), but from what I have heard, they are more science fiction than fantasy because everything in them has to do with science and technology. For example, light sabers are all about technology. Yes, there may be a few things(such as the creatures)that are fantasy-like, but the majority is about sciences. Therefore, the Star Wars movies are more science fiction than fantasy.

Star Wars is definitely more Science Fiction because it has science related objects. In the movie there is lightsabers and spaceships. What makes it more Science Fiction is that it has aliens. When you think of this, it automatically tells you that there is science behind this. Therefore, Star Wars is absolutely Science Fiction.

Star Wars is science fiction because there are many technological things in it that we don’t have today. Like light sabers, space ships that go light speed and much more. That’s why Star Wars is science fiction.

The Star Wars movies are most deffinantly science fiction. Star Wars is science fiction because it takes place in space and has a lot of high tech objects.Star Wars takes place in the future and has inventions that mankind hasnt created yet. Therefore Star Wars is sci-fi because it has many new inventions and takes place in the future.

I say starwars is fantacy because of the unexplaned fictonal elements in the movies like the force. Back when the book clubs on fantasy Mr. Horvath said that fantacy is where the fictonal elements are not explaned like the force binding every living thing together like plants are in earth(soil, sand, rock, etc). Although everyone said that its sifi because of all the futuristic elements like the hyperdrive, lazers, and differnt space crafts, but are they explaned how they work, but in EVERY movie it always talks about the force even in the new tv series it shows it or talks about it. But how does it work or even explane the just if the way it works. Therefore, the starwars trilogy is fantacy because of the futureistic elements not being put into detail fully to make it sifi

i think star wars is a science fiction movie because it really uses planets and ships that may be used in the future. If the whole story was on different planets that were made up then maybe i would consider it fantasy but they include Earth. Also the ships may have been put in like as a futuristic thing. therefore, since the movie uses Earth and the ships are kinda futuristic, star wars is a science fiction movie.

They are Science Fiction movies because they are set in spaceships. Science Fiction commonly has to do with technology, and star wars certainly follows that. Fantasy is more of a different world, and star wars is more in space, an area in which humans have been. Therefore, it is science fiction.

I beleive that Star Wars movies are more science fiction because they use lightsabers, spaceships, ect. Science fiction has to do with technology and Star Wars has a lot of technology in it. Therefore Star Wars is more science fiction than fantasy.

I think that StarWars is more science fiction based. The whole story takes place in the future and there are lightsabers and robots and aliens that are all explained by science in the story.

Based on the definition of SciFi, I would say that Star Wars is Science Fiction. The definition of Science Fiction is, "a form of fiction that draws imaginatively on scientific knowledge and speculation in its plot, setting, theme, etc." Star Wars is just this. It has scientific contraptions from the future that are based on the imagination, so therefore it is science fiction!

I would say star wars is science fiction because a lot of the things they use are thing we can only dream of today. Like fighting in space with light-sabers and other crazy things like that. Therefore since all those technologically advanced machinery it is by far more science fiction than fantasy.

From my prior knowledge i would have to say that star wars is mostly science fiction, because the fiction that is in it is backed up by facts making it plausible, for insistence the X-wing fighter jet. This is based on the fact that we have created rockets that go into space. The only difference is that instead of a rocket it is a jet that has enough power to fly into space and shots missiles and such. Even though there is no gas in space or atmosphere the fuel cell lets out gases making it possible to launch missiles and having them explode other objects.

I don't remember ever really seeing Star Wars, but it seems like science fiction to me. I think this because it's all about science, and technology that probably isn't realistic. For example, the light sabers. (I've heard about these before) Therefore, this is definitely science fiction because most of it is about science.

I don't remember watching Star Wars but I think it's science fiction because of all the technology they have. In the movie the characters live in space with technology that gives them that ability. Therefore, this movie is science fiction because of the technology that allows them to live in space.

Star wars is really science fiction because every part of the movis is really explaines in a scientfcic way. Therfore Star wars is science fiction not fantacy.

Star Wars is more Sci-Fi then Fantasy because it uses tech that we can't begin to understand like the gun on the deathstar that blows up planets. therefore these elements make Star Wars Sci FI

I honestly think that Starwars is both for example you have teleportation devices and force fields but you also have the force which is explained as a energy that surrounds us. Therefore, there is a good mix of both but it probably is more of a Sci-Fi
