Inspiration from Dr. King

submitted by Gaby - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."  What does this statement mean to you?  Who does it apply to?

This statement reminded me of the saying, "one spark can start a fire" becauseit sais, injustice anywhereis a threat to justice anywhere. A spark anywhere is a threat for a fire anywhere, is how it could be re-worded to match what you said.

This statement is true how injustice is a threat to justice because justice has to bring the injustice to justice and injustice is trying to destroy justice. Therefore their always fighting and its a threat.

To me this statement means that one little Outbreak can start outbreaks all over the world like srichard said. sometimes in life rumors can spread and outbreaks can spread the same way. therefore there is always a threat towards good.

To me this quote means that while there could be as much justice as we want in the world, as long as there is an incident of injustustice than the justice is overlooked. for example all over the world law enforcement officers are taking down bad guys and creating justice but we rarely hear about these stories in the news. yet there are stories all the time of people doing injust things such as murder because these things are un common or should be uncommon.. These always air on television therefor our society focuses more on the injust acts then the just acts because they shouldnt be there.

I think this means that one wrong thign can start influencing people to do wrong things. For example, in Egypt, one person or group of people did something that started fights and terrible things in the streets. Therefore, that is why this statement makes me think of this outbreak in Egypt because those people started horrible fights.
